"Sir, rain in this part of the desert... It could have bad results."

"That would be bad, but we should be fine! We're in what I like to call a time bubble! Nothing we do will actually change the future in any way!"

"What is that?"

"Oh, good. I just didn't want anything to happen to my home."

Loup, for no reason at all, does a front flip.

"We should be fine. I will now explain the rules. You cannot be seen or felt in this timestream. Well, you can, but I'm making it so you can't. In short, you are observers. Other than that, go wherever you see something interesting!"

"This is an interesting class...." Leis says. "What does it do?"

"Oh... Good. What year is it?"

Loup begins muttering to himself, looking puzzled.

"Like I said, I'd like to wait till we're out of class." Leis says, looking around."

"I'm not exactly sure. I think we went back at least a couple hundred."

Loup walks up to Leis, holding out his hand. "My name is Shadiya," he says, smiling.

"Oh, I think I might know something interesting, but what does this teach us about history?"

"What better way than in person and at the actual events? I'm sure something important happened around here! The time bubble should have ensured it!"

"Hi! I'm Leis, and this is Kyt!"

"Hello Leis, hello Kyt," he says, grinning at both of them.


"Oh yeah, Medina is just over the hill. Very important event in my people'e history."

"Nice to meet you, too!" She says.

"Ah, so what is Medina, then?"

"A city, and a battlefield. This is one of the greatest battles in our history."

"So, why are you here, in the Academy," he asks, smiling.

"Well... I'm actually kind of the next in line for the kingdom of Aryia, or I was. One of our cousins took over. Stupid family squabbles. But that means Mother no longer had enough to pay my tutors, so when we got the message from this place, it was the perfect time."

"Ah, I see. Well, we had better keep moving then!"

Adam follows him, curious.

"Ah. I know how that is. Family takeovers, that is."

Saronda follows silently.
((*Passing out now, night!*))

"Yeah. Sometimes we do the takeover, and then we move into that castle. Then we lose one and we have to try harder to come up with the money for all of our servants, or stuff like that. It's actually rather annoying."

As they approach Medina, Zorvan's clouds fade out. "Wouldn't want to obscure our vision!"

((Night. Not Saranda?))

As the clouds move, the sounds of battle can be heard below, raging between two determined armies.

"Is there anything I can do to help?"
((What a generous offer, eh?))

"Not really... Mother will find a way to get one of the castles back eventually. If nothing else, she has a small island somewhere." Kyt looks around, and taps Leis on the shoulder. "Hmm?" Kyt tugs on the leash. "Oh, sure. Don't go too far away, though, okay?" Kyt nods as Leis removes the leash, and she goes over to sunbathe. "Kyt doesn't like seeing people fight."

"Ah, we're getting close!" Zorvan seems excited.

And they come upon the battle! "Well well, how... Very stabby!" Zorvan says, as a piece of paper starts taking notes for him. "Here we are! So who's who, and why are they fighting?"

"I will, thank you." Leis looks over the combat, as if she's seen combat repeatedly.

Loup looks... sad. As if the loss of life hurts him personally.

"The men in the city fight for Muhammad. The riders outside are the Bedouin. They fight to decide the religious nature of the Middle Eastern world."

"I see. Very interesting! Humans are always fighting over something or another, aren't they?"

"Yes." Leis says with a slightly... Aggravated undertone.

Kyt slides up behinds Leis, hugging her.

"Okay, let's see... Where are the leaders? There are leaders, aren't there?"

Loup pats Leis on the shoulder, gently.
"There. And there." He says, picking out the leaders of the group with ease.
