Blind Purpose: He sets himself goals, and then focuses only upon them, ignoring dangers to himself and others. Extreme paranoia. Backstory: Whiplash was a brilliant scientist working on new advances in particle manipulation, in an attempt to find and destroy the cancer particle in this reality once and for all. In September of 1961, he believed he had found it. Isolating it, he proceeded to attempt a chain reaction destruction of the particle across our reality. Instead, he tore a small hole in the fabric of space time. Realizing that the only way to stabilize it, and thus save humanity, was to sacrifice himself, he jumped in. For fifty years, he wandered, blind and naked, before arriving at the heart of the tear, in an attempt to permanently close it, he seized the heart, sealing himself within the void. No one knows how he came to escape, but he did, though it left him barely anchored to space and time.
