Ceria-Day Two

"Settle down," he mutters, focusing on his questions about the man from earlier, focusing every ounce of will he has onto the task at hand.

The crowd of spirits begins to thin. Soon, only a few are left. "Greetings, Caller." One of them, a faceless man, with a puncture wound where the left eye would be, speaks.

"What..."

"Greetings. Have you something to tell me?" he asks, in his most respectful tone.

"That depends. Depends on what you have to tell me." A tiny white light appears in the puncture hole. "Something strange. Something... New." It says.

"That's a Speaker. Careful, it could be bad news..."

'What's a Speaker?'
"Honored Guest, I should be hard pressed to tell you something new without knowing the nature of the information you seek."

"A sort of information dealer. In life, they are humans, until they are murdered. Only a few out of a hundred thousand become Speakers. They have power over those with death foci. Be very careful. Very. Very. Very. Careful." He sounds almost... In awe.

"Anything. Tell me something, and I will price it. If you want to tell me something else... Well, there are ways for me to forget." The light flickers.

"There is a way to seperate body and soul. What is that worht?"

"Hmmm... Hmmm...." The light flickers some. "Much, but not enough. Will you add more? Or perhaps try something else entirely?" It almost looks like a tendril pokes out of the hole for a split second.

"I can do it, and show you how."

"Ahhh.. Yes, that will be quite enough. Show me." The tendril appears again for a split second.

"Very well," Earan says, concentrating. Once again, he pushes his soul outwards, making it walk around his backyard for a few moments before returning it to his body.

"I seeee... Interessting... " The tendril comes out again, and stays out. "And now, you wish to know about the dark man." It says this as a statement, though it should be a question.

"Indeed, Honored Guest."

It seems to recite a list. "His name is Malachi. He's old, older than your world has had magic. Full name: Malachirus Areks. Foci: Major is Nothing. Minors are Mind, Energy, Darkness, and Technology. History: Spent his life working to build a 'Perfect' web of information. Mostly succeeded. Major focus is very powerful. Avoiding melee confrontation is a good idea if you wish to keep your limbs. Weak to healers, Nothing focus cannot stop the violent side of the healing focus. Works for a shadow organization in the world government that went rogue. Went dark on his own web for 13 years, returned with what appears to be immunity to physical damage. Apparently unable to age. May be a form of daywalking vampire. Is that all you want to know?"

"Does he have any emotional attachments? Current or past?"

"Parents both died before magical era. No known lovers. While still working for the government, his partner grew close. His partner still works for the government. Ark na, the Hunter. Use your Technology focus friend to find him if you'd like."

"Not particularly, but I'm up for anything, a lotta drug lords taking advantage of the kitri situation, so there's pleanty of them to kill." As she speaks, her night clothes sink back into her skin, and is replaced with a deep maroone shirt underneath a long flowing trenchcoat that split when it reached her legs, a pair of nice dark pants, a pair of black combat boots that fit her feet incredibly well, and although it is not noticeable, a sleek poisioned dagger appears in her left boot, hidden in compartment in the bottom of it.

((See, that there is a proper use of shifting. As shifting requires your character to start with more control but less power, and mystic has the same, your character is actually a bit behind on power, but a good bit ahead in control. Remember that. It's a good thing.))

"I see. That is a useful trick. Mind if I hold your arm for a second? Only a moment." Kyri smiles her smile.

Eda comes back out to the living room with the cup of water.

Lara tilts her head, her hair that is currently tied up into an elegant braid swaying to the side. She thinks about it for a moment, and then sees that there is no real danger in letting the light focus see her arm, and holds it out.

Kyri grabs her arm, and they are rather quickly somewhere else. "Here we are. A gang leader, I believe. Deals in magically enhanced drugs."

She comes in to see Kayley's eyes still a blur. "Hold on."

"This should be interesting." She looks around, and sees that they are in front of another building, and it looks like it has rather sophisticated security.

"Thank you, Honored Guest, for the valued information. Now I must take my leave, so I bid you peace and rest," Earandil says very deferentially, standing and bowing slightly.

The tendril disappears. "Goodbyye..." It says, drawing out the word and walking away. It is then that the spikes, thorns, and tendrils along its entire back can be seen.

"Yes, it will. You can go first." Kyri pulls her hood closer around her face.

Earandil blinks, but seems at least for the most part to understand, looking contemplative as he reenters his home, keeping that expression on as he watches Kayley's eyes to see when she is ready to talk."
