Ceria-Day One

"You know that stuff they use to steal your magic? Anthren can breath that stuff out. I've seen it happen, it's freaky." Jake says, as he turns back to where they'd started. Construction crews appeared to be gathering around the area. "She's having Jacky do work here too?! Man, she must have been wanting to spend something big..." He says.

Susi puts the man in a nice, dark blue suit, perfectly fitting. "Perfect! And in under two hours!" She says, grinning like a little girl who just got her first dollhouse. "Kaley will love this."

Kaley walked in at that moment. "Yes, yes I do. It's perfect." She smiles and pulls out the cellphone. "I've already pinged the money to your account, Susi. With a thousand dollar speedy delivery bonus."

Susi stretches. "I love a challenge. Tell me how it turns out? I want to know what the people think of the design." She says, standing.

"Of course, Susi."

The entire family seems unhappy, out of the clothing they normally wear.

"The kitri bore me. I need a challenge."

Jake laughs. "Ha! Well, the rest of the world would thank you if you'd wait before getting the attention of something bigger." He says.

"Good. This should impress Bob enough to start with. " Kaley says. "Thanks again, Susi."

"No problem, Kaley, anytime." Susi says, as she leaves.

"We'll talk with the construction crews later, see what each family wants. Now, though, we should relax."

"I'm sure they would, but I am not here to cater to the world's needs. Look, all my life, I've gone from one challenge to the next, higher levels until I advanced to the kitri. Now, I want a new challenge."

"Sure, but why not finish off the kitri first?"

"Why? More dead people, the more souls I can use."

"Ah. Well, good luck with that, I guess." Jake says. "Hey! Kaley! You gonna need me to stay here?"

"Well, I'll need to be in the back, but the connection should hold stable through the whole city, so once I'm in you can start her up and drive, if you want."

"Got it."

"I don't want to hurt anyone else..."

"Hurting people is bad." Eda finally spoke up, looking dangerously close to sulking.

"Is that right? That why you were just about useless during the fight?"

"Hey, hey, be nice you two. You're the healers." Kaley says, holding back a laugh.

"Yeah, except I actually FOUGHT."

"Hey, she's untrained. Entirely untrained, and younger. She'd have been a liability if she'd tried."

"Ooh, yeah, cowering in the corner, great skill. I was fighting at her age. Not with focus, but I'm damn sure fought."

"Your focus has a natural tendency towards death, and thus, combat. Her focus has a tendency towards life."

"Then she should have PROTECTED that life, instead of hiding. People got hurt, she didn't even help them until you told her to. Pathetic."

"That's why I'm getting her to the academy. And making sure they don't send her to the government like they did me. If she gets training, she could be almost as good in a fight as you."

"Heh. She's a coward. Besides the Academy, I trained myself."

"Trust me. They don't have as much made for death magic as they do for nature foci. I've seen their files. Pretty interesting, some of what they've got locked up in there. Actually, if you're interested... I've got a plan." Kaley grins conspiratorially.

"I'm in. I need a challenge. Do you need me to spy, because it is REALLY easy..."

"No, no. You see, if Bob is busy with them, and I show up with my camera, he'll probably run a search for techs with enough power to make it. There's only three in the city that could do it. Two of them are very, very well accounted for. Then there's me. I can loop the search, but while he's searching, certain... locks and passwords will be inactive. If you can get in, we can get some rather powerful stuff. Like government secret powerful." She says, making a little holographic diagram as she speaks.

"Do you want information, or physical things?"

"Both. I can talk him into letting you in, and get a map of the areas we need. A little bit of it's personal revenge. They've got something of mine in there. Something... special."

"Well, the info will be easy, physical things... yeah, I can do it, depending on their size. I used to burgle when I was ten..."
