Day 1 (The Facility)

She pushes on his shoulder, very lightly but urgently. "Yes, let's leave before the crazy girl does something violent."

Jimmy leads her out of the room, quickly but steadily. His shoulder is all too firm underneath her hand, almost painful with its rigidity.

Beth stops giggling when she recieves the file. She reads it quickly, and silently, her expression turning to one of fury. When she finishes, the file bursts into flames and she follows Jimmy.

"Psychic healing... I knew I was good, but not like, psychic good," Victoria blabbered on, not fully grasping the meaning of the words "psychic healing". "Oh, hey, my name's Victoria. I wonder if people called me Vicky or Tori. And this picture of me is so icky. That was before I grew my hair out!"

Krori looks at her file one last time, and takes it out, folding it and putting it in her back pocket. She hurries to catch up to the rest of the group, who are already on the other side of the room, and looks at the hall. "Maybe we shouldn't go through that door, like they said, whatever it, or they was, it was incredibly dangerous, and it could still be here." She she directs this mostly at Jimmy, but not in a way that the rest of them could tell.

"I'll just burn it..." Beth mutters this to herself, toying with the ends of her hair.

Jimmy looks them all in the eyes, his expression serious and inspiring.
"Whatever happens, whatever comes, we will deal with it. Each of us has gifts, and I for one plan to use them. We can't stay here. This is a military science facility, not a place where we can bunker down. No matter how any of us feels, we need to stick together. If we do, we can survive. We have no idea what the situation is out there, but judging from the evidence, it will probably be bad. We all have skills to contribute, and I look forward to sharing mine with you."

Krori looks at Jimmy in a new perspective, astonished at the side of him that she hadn't seen, and nods briefly. "Well, here goes nothing," With that, she looks at the door, and somewhat halfheartedly waves her hands, almost expecting nothing to happen. Just when she's sure that nothing will happen, the door appears to be expanding from the inside, exploding and showering everyone with shrapnel, though no one was unfortunate enough to be hit.

Jimmy seems jumpy after a particularly vicious piece of shrapnel whizzes within inches of his eye.
"Well, that was eventful," he mutters, trying to view the surroundings without going through the doorway.

"Gifts? What are you talking about? Does this have something to do with that smell?" Eirye asks confuzzledly.

Alerted by the banging and clanging of the shrapnel against the walls, the Skiffers ((https://liveitup.rpg-board.net/t1246-beastiary#79555)) abruptly tilt their heads up, and listen, but before anyone can tell what they're doing, the Skiffers have started screeching and their paws come down, their menacing claws glinting against the floor. Krori takes a step back and covers her ears, until it just... stops. The Skiffers are standing in front of them, hissing and gnashing their teeth.

'I what?! AH! What is that noise!?" Eirye reaches for the button on her visor.

"Oh! Oh my!" Eirye shouts holding her hands in front of her trying to get at whatever it was that did the metal thing.

As Jimmy suspected, Eiyre's scream, or shout, caused the Skiffers to lean slightly in their direction, before bounding off, reaching them at an inhuman speed, one of the jumping one's caught off-guard by Jimmy's kick, and it's hit under the ribcage, although it does nothing other than send it clambering against the wall. In total, looking down the hall, there are seven Skiffers. Krori stands dumbstruck for a couple seconds more, before throwing up an energy field in front of them, which immediately fizzles and collapses, along with Krori, who is now struggling to breath.

Eirye, noting that the ceiling is metal, draws a mental picture of the area then turns off her visor. "Step back!" she yells, attempting to use her apparently magnetic powers to slam the ceiling down on the rat things that are near them.

The ceiling makes a slow creak, and tiny portions of approximately a fourth of a foot begin to dip down in the area in front of the group.

Jimmy flops back, picking Krori up in one smooth motion, and running them both outbid the way.
"Area clear of friendlies. Fire it up."

Eirye pulls harder. If she had eyes to shut tightly as she focused she would. Since she doesn't, she clenches her fists.

As if just waiting for them to get clear of the area, the ceiling begins to buckle and coagulate together in places, making going beneath it a very dangerous action.

"Just a little more i think...." She gives it one more pull. "Creepy rat things die now!" She shouts.

The ceiling abruptly stops caving, and all the magnetic energy appears to go into the walls, which lash together at a center point of the hall, skewering two Skiffers on the way.

Krori attempts to sit up, and groans "Yeah, I think I'm fine."

"Did-did it work?" Eirye asks, before switching on her visor. "Oh." She turns it back off. "That's... Kinda awesome, I won't lie."
